Fulham captain Tom Cairney insists his side have respect for Manchester United. But will not be intimidated by their season-opening trip to Old Trafford on Friday night.
“Sometimes it helps if you’re the away team. Listen, I’m sure Man United will feel the pressure to go and win at home at Old Trafford.”สมัคร UFABET
“That’s normal for a big Premier League club. That’s what the fans want. That’s what they want, I guess. But it can help in some ways and it can hurt in some ways as well.”
“But hopefully they can’t do it from the first game of the season. I mean they’ve had a slow start to the season the last two seasons.”
Cairney, who came on as a second-half substitute in the memorable win over United six months ago. With Alex Iwobi’s 97th-minute winner the winner, said Fulham will travel there believing they can replicate their form.
“Yes, I played when we were 1-0 up and they equalised!”
“It was a memorable day at Old Trafford. I think it’s been almost 30 years since we won there. It was one of the most memorable days of my season.”
“We are not afraid to go there, of course we will respect them. I think they will start well but we will go there like we always do. Marco (Silva) will prepare us and he never tells us to play defensively.”
“We’re going to go there and try to score and win the game. It’s going to be a good game.”
